India’s Chemistry Knowledge Repository
Organized by discipline. Connected by concept.
Chemistry Live is a dedicated Chemistry knowledge repository developed to organize the complete discipline of Chemistry within a single structured platform — designed around the subject itself rather than individual examinations, so every concept stays relevant to school education, higher education, professional courses, competitive examinations, laboratory practice, industrial applications, and research.
Sixteen branches, one connected structure
Every branch is further divided into concepts, reactions, compounds, laws, equations, mechanisms, laboratory techniques, applications, and examination resources.
Physical Chemistry
Thermodynamics, kinetics, quantum principles, states of matter.
Organic Chemistry
Carbon compounds, functional groups, reaction mechanisms.
Inorganic Chemistry
Elements, coordination compounds, periodic properties.
Analytical Chemistry
Qualitative and quantitative methods of analysis.
Biochemistry
Chemical processes within living organisms and biomolecules.
Environmental Chemistry
Chemical processes affecting air, water, soil, ecosystems.
Industrial Chemistry
Large-scale manufacturing and process technology.
Polymer Chemistry
Synthesis, structure, and properties of macromolecules.
Nuclear Chemistry
Radioactivity, nuclear reactions, isotopic applications.
Surface Chemistry
Adsorption, catalysis, and colloidal phenomena.
Coordination Chemistry
Metal complexes, ligands, and bonding theories.
Medicinal Chemistry
Drug design, synthesis, and pharmacological chemistry.
Electrochemistry
Redox reactions, cells, electrical-chemical energy conversion.
Materials Chemistry
Design and properties of functional and structural materials.
Green Chemistry
Sustainable, environmentally responsible chemical processes.
Emerging Fields
Nanochemistry, computational chemistry, and allied frontiers.
From the classroom to the research laboratory
Chemistry forms an essential part of school education through CBSE, ICSE, and the State Boards, where it establishes the academic foundation for scientific learning. The same concepts continue through undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral education offered by universities and technical institutions throughout India.
Engineering Entrance Examinations
JEE Main, JEE Advanced, BITSAT, VITEEE, WBJEE, KCET, MHT CET, COMEDK, and other state engineering examinations.
Medical Entrance Examinations
NEET UG and admissions to programmes in medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, veterinary sciences, and allied health sciences.
University Entrance Examinations
CUET (UG and PG) assesses Chemistry for admission to science programmes across Indian universities.
Postgraduate & Research Examinations
IIT JAM, GATE, GPAT, NIPER entrance examinations, CSIR-UGC NET, SET, doctoral entrance examinations, and research fellowships.
Chemistry also remains an important subject in pharmacy, biotechnology, agriculture, food technology, forensic science, environmental science, chemical engineering, materials science, nanotechnology, petroleum technology, textile technology, polymer science, ceramic engineering, metallurgy, and several interdisciplinary programmes. Recruitment examinations conducted by scientific organizations, public sector enterprises, research laboratories, pharmaceutical industries, chemical industries, environmental agencies, universities, and educational institutions also include Chemistry according to the requirements of the respective disciplines.

Chemistry within the wider scientific landscape
Chemistry Live documents how chemical principles apply across the wider scientific landscape:
How this repository is written, sourced, and corrected
Chemistry Live is built on a specific editorial process, not just written and left alone. Every page in this repository follows the same standards below, and those standards — not marketing — are what the repository is meant to be judged on.
Sourced Against Standard References
Definitions, derivations, and reaction mechanisms are checked against established textbooks (such as NCERT and standard undergraduate references) and IUPAC nomenclature rules, with sourcing noted directly on the page where relevant.
Dated and Actively Revised
Every content page carries a visible “last updated” date. Pages are revisited and corrected as errors are found or as clearer explanations are developed — this date changes only when the page itself has actually changed.
Open to Correction
Every page includes a direct way to report an error or suggest an improvement. Corrections are reviewed and, where valid, applied — with no requirement to agree before a fix is made.
Depth Before Breadth
A branch is expanded only when the concepts already published in it meet the repository’s own depth standard — full derivations, worked examples, and context — rather than being padded with thin, half-written pages to increase page count.
What this means in practice: if a page on Chemistry Live gives you a definition, a derivation, or a mechanism, it is expected to hold up against a standard textbook — and if it doesn’t, there is a direct path to get it fixed, and it will be.
A repository built to last
Chemistry Live is being developed as a long-term Chemistry knowledge repository that documents the complete academic scope of the subject. The objective is to create a structured reference where chemical knowledge can be studied, explored, and preserved through systematic organization, scientific accuracy, and continuous expansion. The repository is intended to serve students, educators, researchers, professionals, institutions, and all readers interested in the study and application of Chemistry.

We didn’t build Chemistry Live to help you pass an exam. We built it to help you actually understand chemistry — the exam just follows.”Some sites teach chemistry to be tested. We teach it to be understood.”
